The Rutland Urban Centre encompasses the heart of Rutland, primarily along Highway 33 and Rutland Road. The neighbourhood has been growing quickly, with more low-rise apartments being constructed in the past few years. While these projects have been underway, Rutland has seen relatively little new commercial growth, and unlike the other Urban Centres, isn’t a large employment destination for Kelowna residents.
Rutland offers public school options for all grades within and just outside of its boundary, as such has a higher percentage of youth compared to other Urban Centres.
As the neighbourhood grows, we’ve been investing in parks improvements and new transit service such as the new #98 RapidBus service to UBCO and Downtown.
With more and more people choosing to live in this area we are looking for feedback on additional ways to improve Rutland that build on its strengths to make this unique Urban Centre an even better place.
