Rutland Recreation Park is a family-oriented park that offers a wide range of activities for all ages. The park has four soccer fields, two ball diamonds, and a BMX facility. Additionally, the park houses the Rutland Arena, which has two NHL-sized ice rinks, the Kelowna Family Y, the Okanagan Gymnastics Centre, and the Rutland Activity Centre. Other facilities include community gardens, pickleball courts, trails and washrooms. The park also currently includes an off leash dog area. We are enhancing this park with an updated design including a new artificial turf field and we thank everyone who contributed either online or in person at the open house.
Kelowna’s first neighbourhood bikeway will be in Rutland and we are looking for input to help inform a high-level concept design along on the proposed route.
Rutland Recreation Park is being optimized with new sports fields within the park along with transportation network improvements.
With the planned routing of the Rutland Bikeway, this key corridor along Hartman Rd is intended to support connection between the park, future bikeway, and Rutland Road.
