The Rutland Urban Centre encompasses the heart of Rutland, primarily along Highway 33 and Rutland Road. The neighbourhood has been growing quickly, with more low rise apartments being constructedin the past few years. While these projects have been underway, Rutland has seen relatively little new commercial growth, and unlike the other Urban Centres, isn’t a large employment destination for Kelowna residents. Rutland offers a public school options for all grades just outside of its boundary, making it a popular destination for families with children.

As the neighbourhood grows, we’ve been investing in parks improvements, and new transit service such as the new #98 RapidBus service to UBCO and Downtown. We’re also working on a new all-ages activity centre at Lions Park and other projects.With more and more people choosing to live in this areawe are looking for feedback on additional actions that we can take to build on Rutland’s strengths to make this unique Urban Centre an even better place.
