Transit travel training program

Thank you for participation in the transit travel training pilot program, offered in partnership by the City of Kelowna and BC Transit for middle and high-school students as well as adults over the age of 50.

The program shared information about:

  • accessing and using fare products
  • boarding and riding the bus
  • reading schedules
  • planning trips using various available tools

The program aims to encourage public transit use and enhance personal mobility. The mobility that public transit provides creates opportunities to engage with your community for volunteering, socializing, sport and health, as well as for shopping and access to employment and education.

  • Rutland Senior Secondary School took part in a Transit Travel Training pilot program in partnership with the City of Kelowna and BC Transit this past October. The program taught students about a variety of aspect of public transit including accessing and using fare products, boarding and riding the bus, reading schedules, planning trips using various available tools and more.   

    Every family’s input is important to the success of this program. Please take 5 minutes with your grade 9 child who attends this school to complete the post-training survey. 

    Families that complete this survey will be entered into a draw for free one-month transit passes and gift-certificates to local businesses.
