Rental housing plays a vital role in Kelowna's housing system. For many residents, it is their long-term housing solution. For others, it is a stepping stone toward home ownership. And as the ownership market becomes more difficult to enter, the rental market is expected to grow in importance.

The latest survey for this project closed on April 21, 2019.

Background

As identified in the City of Kelowna’s Healthy Housing Strategy, protecting Kelowna’s existing stock of purpose-built rental is important if rental housing is going to be available at a variety of price points.

Through this project, referred to as the Rental Housing Inventory, staff aims to compile a detailed inventory of the existing purpose-built rental stock in Kelowna.
