Neighbourhood Dialogues - Downtown North End

Working together to make sure every person in our community has the opportunity for a safe and healthy place to live
Join us for a respectful and inclusive conversation
The North End of downtown Kelowna has experienced a number of events related to homelessness, including the Leon Avenue transition, overnight sheltering at Poplar Point Drive and Recreation Avenue, the opening of Fuller Place and a temporary winter shelter called the Welcome Inn.
Residents and businesses have played an active role, adding their voices and perspectives to the conversation and providing direct support to people experiencing homelessness.
Representatives from Journey Home Society and City of Kelowna, along with other partners would like to continue the conversation with a series of small group dialogues. Each dialogue will feature:
- Information sharing about current conditions
- Short presentations about innovative initiatives to prevent and reduce homelessness
- Exploratory discussions about ways to build an inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity for a safe and healthy place to live
These dialogues have been created to support and convene respectful, inclusive conversations that consider the interests of neighbours, businesses and people experiencing homelessness.
They will be held at the Rotary Centre of the Arts, Pacific Safety Boardroom, 421 Cawston Avenue, Kelowna.
